When working on project where we were alligning with brands or creating our own, it was an imperitive part of research to investigate the brand and create an brand-unpack of some kind. This could involve the brand's target user/consumer, brand trends such as styling. These brand trends can cover how a particualr brand typically advertises their products in marketing, the aesthetic/form that their products are made to fit within and arguable the most important, a brand's styling can be a great way of coveying their overall mission and help cement that in the mind of the user/consumer. For example, if a brand revovled itself around sustainability, as a user you wouldnt expect their packaging to feature excess of non-recyclable materials or they may use colouring typically associated with nature.
